She scored the winner for the Indomitable Lionesses against the Malian female team. Trailed by one goal, after the equaliser of Mefoumettou, Ajara netted the winner for the Lionesses. In the second fixture of the ongoing Women’s African Cup of Nation’s taking place in Ghana, the attacking winger of the Lionesses permitted her team to grap three very important points. Born in Njisse, in the West Region of Cameroon, Nchout Ajara Njoya has been playing with the Indomitable Lionesses since 2010. The forward participated in the 2012 Olympic Games in London with the Lionesses. The 1.64m striker started her career with Franck Rollycek of Douala where she spent three years (2007-2010).

Her talent was detected by Russian club FC Energy Voronezh where she played for one season (2011-2012) before being transfered to another Russian club, WFC Rossiyanka, with which she played the Women’s Champions League. The European adaventure was not too sucessful for the young striker, so Ajara returned to her country Cameroon in 2014 and signed with AS Police of Yaounde. The same year, she participated in the Women’s AFCON in Namibia and the Lionesses finished second of the tournament and by extension booked their qualification for the first time for the 2015 Women’s World Cup that took place in Canada. The Lionesses put up a brilliant perfomance in Canada by crossing the first round of the tournament but bowed out in the second round eliminated by China.

This perfomance opened doors for Ajara who signed a juicy contract with US club Western New York Flash (2015). But her stay there too was shortlived as one season later, she inked another contract with Swedish second division side Sundvalls DFF. Her intergration in the club was fast as she finished the season with twelve goals and was voted best player of the season. Celebrating her 25th anniversary on January 12, 2018 Ajara announced that she had signed with Norvegian club IL Sandviken. With her club, she finished top scorer of the Championship with 15 goals in 19 matches. It is this fine form that Ajara brought to the Lionesses den. Her goal against Mali last weekend confirms the striker is indeed in her best form since she started her career.
